A heartbreaking retirement with just one hour remaining in “88th Bol d’Or”
2025 年 9月16日(火) 〜21日(日) にフランスのポールリカールサーキットで開催されたFIM世界耐久選手権・第4戦「ボルドール24時間レース」に「オートレース宇部 Racing Team」が参戦しました。チームにとって初の海外遠征レースとなった「ボルドール」にはライダーとして浦本修充、ロリス・バズ、そして新加入のレアンドロ・メルカドを起用。予選ではスポット参戦チームであるにも関わらず総合5位につける健闘を見せました。
決勝を5位からスタートした「# 76 AUTORACE UBE RACING TEAM」（BMW M1000RR）は4位を走行。レース途中にブレキーパッドの交換、サイレンサーの交換などを行う時間があり、いくつかのタイムロスがありましたが、概ね順調にレースを進めていき、国際映像でも注目を集める活躍を見せました。
しかし、スタートから22時間46分経過した時、レアンドロ・メルカドがエンジンの不調を感じて緊急ピットイン。応急処置の後、チェッカーフラッグを受けるために1周だけの走行を行うことも考えましたが、レースの安全性を優先し、チームはそのままリタイアを決断しました。
順調に周回を重ねていただけに非常に残念な結果となりましたが、チームとしては多くのことを初の24時間レースから学びました。この経験を糧にチームは更なる挑戦をFIM世界耐久選手権、そして全日本ロードレース選手権で行っていきます。

From September 16 (Tue) to 21 (Sun), 2025, AutoRace Ube Racing Team competed in Round 4 of the FIM Endurance World Championship, the 88th Bol d’Or, held at Circuit Paul Ricard in France.
For the team’s very first overseas race, riders Naomichi Uramoto, Loris Baz, and newly joined Leandro Mercado were selected. Despite being a wildcard entry, the team impressed in qualifying by securing 5th overall. Starting the race from 5th on the grid, the #76 AUTORACE UBE RACING TEAM BMW M1000RR ran as high as 4th place. The team lost some time due to brake pad changes and a silencer replacement during the race, but overall they progressed steadily and delivered a performance that attracted international broadcast coverage.
However, after 22 hours and 46 minutes, Leandro Mercado felt engine trouble and made an emergency pit stop. Although the team considered sending the bike back out for a single lap in order to take the checkered flag, we ultimately prioritized safety and decided to retire.
It was an extremely disappointing result given the consistent performance up to that point, but the team gained valuable experience from their first-ever 24-hour race. AutoRace Ube Racing Team will use this as a foundation for further challenges in both the FIM Endurance World Championship and the MFJ JSB1000 Race.
